My 1 year after treatment cat scan is coming up next month and I’m not sure how to feel about it. Currently in remission from metastatic anal cancer. I guess we’ll see if that changes.
Hello Angus252fb3e2
The dreaded scanxiety - we all go through it and it's no fun. Would that we had a crystal ball to see lots of clear scans in the future. Sadly, it is all part of the rollercoaster that is life after a cancer diagnosis.
I will be thinking of you next month and keeping everything crossed that your scans are clear.
Wishing you the very best of luck
Irene xx
Hi Angus,
Yes, I know that awful feeling of having to wait and not being able to do anything. But you seem to be doing well so far, so just carry on looking after yourself. I try to look at it that if anything does show up on the scan, it's better to know early when any changes are tiny, than find out later when you have symptoms.
Please let us know how it goes for you. xx
Hi Angus252fb3e2 ,
Prior to my diagnosis I didn’t realise that there was such a thing as scanxiety! Believe me it is REAL. I think everyone here can attribute to that. Scans bring a whole array of different emotions & these can change from minute to minute.
I’ll be thinking of you & sending lots of positive thoughts your way for good results.
Nicola
