Hi everyone , Im late joining these forums - Im now in my final week of chemo plus radiation - but thank you to everyone who has posted. It’s been a huge support to share experiences and Ive been inspired by everyone’s courage . Im now getting the expected side effects and this week I ordered a sitz bath online and I’m glad I did . Its a great comfort  and getting it this week means I can get used to using it before I really really need it. You dont need to spend a lot of money on them -  the basic model is all you need - and mine cost about £11 from an online shop basically supplying them for women recovering from childbirth complications. [One size fits all]. Sorry, I dont have the link but just google - many options, including Amazon.

Good luck every one!

  • Hi Suki

Welcome to the forum. You are so close to the end, then rest and recover and it will soon all be a distant memory. Sending hugs. Xx

  • Hello Suki

It is lovely that although we didn't know you then, you found the forum useful.  A warm welcome, and if you have anything to share on here, please do.  The end of treatment is such a huge thing to look forward to, I literally counted off the days and the relief in no longer having daily hospital visits was enormous.

The Sitzbath was an absolute essential for me, I couldn't have done without it!  Although I am just over three years out of treatment I only got rid of mine last year, I decided I will never have a use for it again.

When you have had your last treatment, please be very kind to yourself - you need lots of rest and recuperation as your body repairs itself.

You are just in time for this lovely weather too!

    Irene xx

  • Hi  & welcome to the MacMillan Online Community, I’m really pleased that you’ve found the forum useful & supportive.

You really are at the business end of your treatment now but not long & you can hunker down for a couple of weeks then your recovery will begin in ernest & you’ll be surprised on how quickly your body heals I’m sure.

Good luck with your last week of treatment, we’re here to support you however we can.

    Nicola
