Hi I’m 3 weeks post parastomal hernia repair I had the modified sugar baker technique, as far as I’m aware all is ok. I stopped taking pain relief after a week as I felt I didn’t need it. However the last few days iv been getting a constant pain where I’m struggling to walk and have to stop did anyone else get this?

Hope to hear from someone soon.

  • Hi Dizzy1968,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such pain post surgery. It sounds really difficult.

Your surgical procedure is outside my field of experience and I’m so sorry not to have any answers. I hope that someone on the forum will be able to help and advise you.

Sending best wishes and hope you are able to gain some advice and that the pain improves soon. I also hope that you have a helpful team who can support you and who are aware of the onset of pain.

    Sending hugs xx

  • Hi Peb 24,

No painkillers seem to help it but as soon as I sit down the pain gos, it’s not like a stomachache pain either, it’s not even a pain that seems like the surgery has gone wrong, my output is fine there is nothing wrong with my stoma either very strange!!

    Thanks for your reply.

  • Hi

You might get some more answers in the stoma support group, so maybe try posting there as I see you’re a member. There’s definitely discussion about this, though I haven’t had the surgery myself. Good luck!
