Hi
I'm new here but not new to anal cancer. I had treatment for stage 3B anal cancer 14 years ago, got the all clear 6 months later and have been free of it ever since. I know when I was first diagnosed and feeling terrified, it helped me to read of success stories, so hope if anyone is in that position now, that this will help them. I had large tumours which had spread to my lymph nodes and across my abdomen. But this cancer is treatable and after the standard 28 days of chemo radiation, which, yes is wearing, it was gone. It's true I have had side issues ever since but it became my new normal as it does for most of us. Good luck to anyone recently diagnosed. Now I'm going to the other page to discuss late treatment issues.
Hello Janno
Thank you so much for visiting here and giving a voice of reassurance 14 years down the line. I agree about the new normal but it is an awful lot better than the alternative!
Good luck to you too.
