Today has been very busy , my first appointment with an oncologist she was lovely.
So Im T3 N1 M0 , my treatment will be 28 days of chemo radiation.
Treatment to start in 2/3 weeks firstly I need my scan for radiation and tattoos and another appointment for chemo ward and some checks.
I’d explained that I had join this group and already had some great information and tips.
The only shock was my treatment will not be at my local cancer centre as they dont have the anal specialists there. The centre I will be at is in the middle of Liverpool city centre and Im a nervous driver !!! They will arrange transport which is a big help.
Im relieved to have my plan.

Hi Emma,
That’s brilliant news Emma and not too long to wait. It’s my first day today, I'm setting off about 10ish, chemo first and then my first radiotherapy session. My daughter is away on a school trip, she sent me a good luck message this morning and a ‘love you’ message, with her being a teenager I thought she’d forgotten!
Wishing you all the very best Emma, let’s give this nasty thing a really good seeing to! Please keep me updated with how you’re getting on.
Sending you a big virtual hug. xx
All the best Adele … let us know how you get on over the next few weeks
Chrissie xx
Very relieved for you that your plan is through! Can I ask how long it has taken? I had quite a flurry of appointments, scans and a EUA all within two weeks and now haven’t really heard anything for a fortnight.
I know they removed a large amount of the growth during the EUA and they’re running all sorts of tests.
just not sure what timeframes are. Psychologically I’m struggling worrying what’s happening down there!
hopefully the travel isn’t too taxing for you, it might be a relief not to have to drive. I’m in Cornwall and we only have one hospital so hoping mine can be done there!
take care, K
Heres my timeline so far , In summary 12 weeks from investigative colonoscopy after GP felt mass inside bum to start of treatment . I think the longest wait Ive had between knowing more is 2 weeks . I was the same wanting to know the diagnosis and plan its a horrible wait but agree with other comments that you will feel more settled once you have a plan . I’ve started prep now purchased sitz bath and a upside down wash bottle , some floaty dresses and some epsom salts. They said today in my radiation prep it wont harm in starting to moisturise the skin now so its nice and soft for the radiation. Also downloaded some netflix films for the waiting around
