Tomorrow I head into the last four days of radiation, which is exciting to think about. But I have to confess the last week or so the pain has been worse than anything I've experienced before. I won't bore you all with the specifics, other than to say that the cumulative effect of chemo last week and ongoing radiation has me feeling exhausted and quite sore. I literally dread going to the bathroom, trying to sleep at night, and eating anything that may "set off" the cramping and diarrhea. But with just four treatment days to go I need to suck it up and stay positive. Ironically, I am a psychologist and should know how to do this for myself, but honestly it's been a struggle.
For all of you that have been there and back, I'd love it if you could give me your best affirmations, encouragements and motivational tools. What worked for you at the end? Thanks and much appreciated!
