Hello everybody, it’s been a while since I updated everybody but here goes. My mum finally started her treatment end of July and has just completed a 6 week treatment plan of Chemo tablets and Radiotherapy 5 days a week with weekends off.
to start with Mum felt fine, and had little effects of the treatment but from week 3 onwards my mum has been in excruciating pain.
Mum has had everything from constipation and severe stomach cramps to the complete opposite where she cannot stop going to the toilet. Far worse from that she has severe burns front to back which are now ulcerated and pussy externally and internally.
Mum has been given various creams but she is so sore that struggling to use as stinging and making everything painful, she is trying to where loose clothing and no underwear when at home to try and help, but is excruciating pain especially when going to the toilet and the ulcerated area which are scabbing over then break. The hospital gave her some oramorph but then told her it could be this that’s causing her to be constipated and having the horrible cramps and pains she is getting.
Just wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar and any advice on what could help? Mum doesn’t have a review now until end of October to know if this treatment has been worthwhile, so on the waiting game again.
thanks guys
