Hi loki balls7b3768 It could be your lymphatic drainage system not working correctly, that can be affected by treatment. There are various types of massage that can help if that's what it is also rebounding is supposed to help. I would run it past your doctor at next appointment or see your GP just to be certain though. Sending hugs. Xx

This is outside my experience although my ankles do occasionally swell a little due to the heatwave we are having at the moment, but it isn't a regular occurrence.  And my complaint is hip pain which is due to the pelvic radiotherapy.

I think Bumble could be right in her thoughts; there was a forum member on here recently who had swelling in the pubic region and this was due to insufficient lymphatic drainage, and this may be the cause of your swollen ankles and painful knees.  But I am not a medic, I would seek advice as there can be treatment to help with this.

Hi loki balls7b3768 , I agree with what’s already been mentioned about lymphatic drainage, even if you didn’t have any lymph nodes affected by your cancer that were directly treated our pelvis is full of them & they’re bound to get some fallout from the radiotherapy but as has been said it’d be worth mentioning it to your Dr.

I was told some years ago that I had a ‘lazy lymph system’ & my ankles always swell but at that time they didn’t do anything for it but as Bungle1 has said lymphatic massage is big at the moment.

I also suffer from lower back pain, I’m 8 years post treatment. A recent MRI showed up a whole load of inflammation in my hips & lower spine & I’m awaiting an appointment with an MSK specialist. I’ve recently had some right knee pain also that feels very much like an elbow issue I had some time ago, the elbow was diagnosed by a GP as repetitive strain injury but I doubted that diagnosis! the MSK guy I was seeing at the time said it could be tendon related so I’m hoping the specialist will be able to shed some light on these issues too.
