Hi all,
can anyone recommend a moisturiser? I’m 2 weeks post treatment and still very sore between my legs. Have been using Flamigel RT up until now but as the skin is starting to heal and scab over it is very dry so wondering if I might be better switching to a moisturiser? I’ve tried e45 but it stings!
thanks x
Hi ThisMumRuns I had flaminal hydro and forte after treatment. I also use the dark blue aveeno which was on the list of moisturisers I was allowed to use from the hospital.xx
Hi
I started with flamigel RT but found it just made me itchy so I just brought a big pot of sudocream & was the best thing I did , I used it all o er & made such a difference. Hope it helps x
Sudocrem was a game changer for me too as soon as treatment finished.
Hi ThisMumRuns ,
I used QV cream supplied by my radiology team during treatment to wash with as anything else caused irritation, then after treatment I was prescribed Aquamax cream, I still use this to wash with now & to moisturise if needed as the previously radiated skin is still really sensitive & reacts to even perfume free products, I even have to make sure that the toilet paper I buy hasn’t got anything added as this causes irritation too & so many have added fragrances these days.
If things do get irritated sudocrem is my go to. I was told by my colorectal surgeon to treat the skin as you would baby’s skin & the irritation I was experiencing was akin to nappy rash.
I hope this helps a little & wishing you a speedy recovery.
Nicola
