Hello
I’m in the last few days of my treatment radiotherapy & chemo . My skin on my Pubic Bone has became very itchy & irritated, usually at night after I’ve had treatment , my skin hasn’t broken & hopefully it won’t now , did anyone else suffer this this & what creams would you recommend to relieve it please . I moisturise but doesn’t help with the itching .
Thanks
I had sporadic but intense itching around my anus towards the end of treatment and for a couple of weeks after. And yes, it usually started at night and kept me awake. Creams didn’t really help but a daily antihistamine did the job. I just used a Sainsbury own brand one that I had knocking around at home in case of insect bites. But the oncologist said she would prescribe them when saw her 3 weeks after treatment so I suggest you ask if they will prescribe them for you now. xx
Hi Kerrie74532c28 , I too suffered the dreaded itch but as with Crystaltipps73f2a8 mine was more bottom related & was keeping me awake at night sometimes feeling like I had literal ants in my pants! I took a daily antihistamine too that eased it a lot, I took some Piriton that I had in the house (believe it or not I keep them in for the dog!) then I just bought a generic supermarket brand after that that cost a pound or just over. I know that E45 do an itch relief cream but I’d run that by your treating team first before you go out & purchase any. Hope this helps & you get some relief soon.
Nicola
Thank you . I always take antihistamine daily anyway . I will speak to the team later . God that sounds awful hope I don’t get that .
Hello Kerrie74532c28
I am sorry that you are having itching, and of course it always happens at night when you can't distract yourself. I am pleased that your skin is holding up except for the itch, and if you are already taking antihistamines I would ask the team treating you if they can help.
I hope you get this sorted and can enjoy a good night's sleep; and count off the days!
Irene xx
