Finally! A seat cushion!

We had a visit from an NHS occupational therapist who suggested a high-risk (for pressure sores) seat cushion that we could then modify for our use. Magically, it arrived at our door in 2 days, and my husband and I went to work. Sicily (the tumour... she's not 'mine', she is her own being) is quite a bitch and wanted her own space as she is now growing outside my body, so we are trying to be accommodating. It is memory foam on the top and denser (pink) foam on the bottom with what would have been a waterproof cover had we not carved into it as Sicily insisted. But I wanted to share with anyone struggling to sit on their unwanted visitor!

  • Hi Wavedancer,

That looks perfectly modified and hopefully will make your current symptoms more bearable. Enjoy sitting out in your garden and hopefully Sicily will soon be gone. Xx

  • Great adaptation  , hopefully this will make things a little more comfortable until Sicilys demise.

  • Wavedancer, I am so impressed at your carving skills - let's hope you have a very short need of it too!

  • That made my day that you gave it a name. When I was carrying around my chemo pump in week 1 I told my teens that I had named it Polly the pump. Not looking forward to seeing her again in week 5.

  • Yes, I must say that she is really acting up lately... a real bitch... but when I yell at her (which I do... especially on the loo!) my husband knows he's not the target! I love "Polly" for the pump! I meet mine on Monday, so we'll see what name she comes with!
