Hi all, sorry I've been away for so long, had so much to get my head around, anyhoo, im back
Hello Happyforager2
Lovely to hear from you, how are you? I do hope everything is going well in your recovery and that your head is now round whatever it was that was bothering you!

Hey ridetbred it's all been a bit up in the air, my treatment seemed to go OK but its not cleared the bugger, I'm know under specialists at a hospital called 'the christie'
I'll be having colostomy surgery in around 4 weeks, which they have said isn't curative and not reversible, he said its around an 8 hour operation, which will be fun! Also they are now worried it may have spread to the lymph in my groin so have to go for another scan before the surgery
Hi Irene75359 yes I'm most definitely in a better place thank you, its been so up and down, seems like it's just been one thing after another, but we keep moving forward

If it is any reassurance I had an elective colostomy at the beginning of June due to anal stenosis and ongoing bowel problems. It took me about two days to get into the swing of it, I had an infection which needed antibiotics but when it healed my life is so much easier and more predictable. I am sorry to hear that some question marks remain over a lymph node, I am keeping everything crossed that it is just inflammation.

Irene75359 thank you, he did tell me the actual, correct name for the surgery but like most of these appts, I end up in a daze from all the info so cant bloomin remember
Hi Happyforager2 , I’m sorry to hear that your treatment journey has to continue! Sometimes this disease can be damn persistent. I’ve heard only good things about the Christie so I’m sure you’re in good hands & they’ll take good care of you. It’s completely natural when you’re bombarded with lots of new information at your appointments that very little goes in & sticks, ask at your next appointment if your oncologist/surgeon minds if you record the appointment on your phone as you’re struggling to remember so much of the information.

Nikki65 thank you, i was already kind of geared up to the prospect of this surgery, it was spoken about last year with a surgeon at my local hospital but he chose to transfer it to the specialists in the christie
Ive just had my pre-op letter come today, that appointment is the 21st this month, so a week and a half'ish away, i will most definitely be asking about recording it, the exact same thought went through my head the other night
