I am in my third week of radiotherapy for anal cancer and I am getting sore can anyone recommend a cushion to make it more comfortable to sit down
Hi Crumb,
Firstly welcome to the Macmillan online community although I’m sorry to hear of your diagnosis.
I recall a couple of people have been recommended cushions by their specialist nurse at their treating hospitals others have sourced their own, I occasionally used a donut cushion for driving but didn’t find it particularly comfortable. I seem to remember someone mentioning a ‘boneyparts’ cushion, I think it’s a foam based cushion with a cut out. There are also gel based cushions & memory foam ones on the market but they’re not particularly cheap so hopefully someone that has tried & tested one of these with some success will be along soon to advise.
Nicola
Hi Crumb I asked my GP to make a referral to the District Nurses who can supply aids and equipment. They sorted me out with a really comfortable large foam cushion which was the best I tried. They can also supply mattress toppers to help you get comfortable in bed. Hope the rest of your treatment goes as smoothly and as possible. Bev
