My aunt has not been to the doctor about this and it's been going on for at least 2.5 years. She refuses to show us what it looks like now, but says it always bleeds and that she has bloody diarrhea every day. She now wears adult diapers and tells herself and us that it's just hemorrhoids and her ulcerative colitis. I think she is afraid to go to the doctor. Do you think this could be anal or colon cancer? If not what else could it be?
Hi lenaore and welcome to the group. I know it’s probably going to be difficult to persuade your aunt to go to the doctors but without a medical examination it’s impossible to say what it is. It could be anal cancer but any lump found on examination would need to be biopsied. Is there any chance she would agree to having it checked out? Bev
Hi Lena, it could be - but none of us here are qualified enough to be able to tell you. There are many things it could be. My oncologist has told me that any unexplained bleeding requires further investigation.
