Hi,
of all the creams that are available to us which one works the best to shrink piles ?
Jane x
Hi Jane ,
Im not sure if it shrinks piles but I have been using Proctosedyl ointment that the oncologist prescribed . It’s got hydrocortisone and some local anaesthetic in it . The oncologist prescribed it for me and it definitely helps with the discomfort .
Wishing you well x

My doctor prescribed Scheriproct foam with applicators, they did ease the pain but didn't shrink them. I am sorry I can't help, my piles used to shrink but not any more. I went in for a procedure under GA last year to try and help my anal stenosis and the doctor mentioned doing a haemorrhoidectomy (cutting out the piles) at the same time, but by the time I came to have the GA I completely bottled it and told them not to do it - my poor backside has seen enough trauma to last a lifetime and I understand recovery can be painful. But they are not engorged any more and not painful, but since then I have had an elective stoma which probably helps!
I hope you find a solution that helps and isn't painful either.
Irene xx
