Hi
I finished treatment on 6th November and have just received my scan appointments for 27th January, Little bit earlier than i expected but that's fine. I was only expecting one scan but I'm having an MRI and a CT with contrast, is this normal do people normally have both ? Xx
Glad I’m not the only one who goes through this scenario whenever something is just a bit unexpected. It’s the fallout from what we’ve been through. Thanks. Now I know I won’t panic when I get appointments for follow up scans. Thanks Bungle and Nikki.

Hi Bungle,
Good that you’ve received your appointments for scans and sounds like your team are really thorough which is reassuring.
I didn’t know that it was the norm to have an MRI and a CT and now I am worried that this hasn’t been offered to me. When I read the posts on this forum I can’t help feeling that my team are not as focused as some others. I say that in terms of time from diagnosis to treatment, general support and advice, obtaining any creams from the radiotherapy team and follow up time from the first scan.
Im glad it’s happening for you however and very much hope all goes well as appreciate the anxiety of wanting to know how effective the treatment has been. It’s easy for the worries to spiral when having an off day with symptoms!
Best wishes xx
Hi PEB24
Sorry things have been difficult for you. I had trouble getting diagnosed first went to GP in Feb 24 and started treatment end Sept 24 the in-between consisted of mis diagnosis and a lot of cock ups by my GP surgery and the hospital at the beginning. From everything I've read on this forum different hospitals seem to advise different things, one place says somethings ok and another will say no. Hoping for a positive result but aware it could take till the 6 months scan for that. Xx
Hi Bungle,
Thanks for your response.
Sounds like a similar trajectory. I also first went to GP in February 24 after plucking up the courage.
Lots of obstacles on the route to diagnosis despite the GP being lovely and sending me up to the surgical team at the hospital who were not interested and I felt like a fraud! You are so right about different hospitals saying different things but I’m glad for you that they are now clearly on it.
Very best wishes for a good outcome from your scans. And hope your awful neighbours have gone to ground and are leaving you in peace.
