As I've been reading through this forum, I've noticed a few of us are starting our treatment journey in   January and wondered how many of us are starting on the 6th.

Anxiety is rather high today, but I'm hoping once treatment starts, that will ease off and I'm ready to kick this cancer butt good riddance!

  • Hi Squeak

    • That is annoying when they change the treatment day, Sorry about that & good luck for the 7th.
    • Yes good to try and keep busy and your mind off it.
    • Be thinking of you too. Yes we can all support each other. Take Care xx

I am truly taken aback by your account of what you have been through and even more so reading of the investigations that have should have been actioned and weren't.  It is one of these occasions that I struggle to find some words that might help and forgive me if I am floundering here.

I am presuming you have anal spread, I am hoping very much that they can eradicate this and concentrate on clearing your lungs.

Sending every good wish for your future treatment and thinking of you.

    Irene xx

  • No not Anal, it was a tumour on my spine and 2 Years later I was in remission, But now got stage 4 lung cancer despite me asking for MRI scan but never got hmmmmm.

No you are not floundering. Thanks for your message, I will definitely get it investigated as I want to know why they didn’t refer me over.

Take Care and have a good evening BlushBlush

  • Wishing you all the best for tomorrow.

  • Wishing you all the best for tomorrow.

  • Thank you very much Fellsider. Take care xx

  • Oh my gosh  , I presumed that you had a diagnosis of anal cancer, apologies! This must have been an awful shock to you to receive such a devastating diagnosis yesterday! I’m sure it’s not prevalent in your mind right now but I would be taking this further & holding someone accountable for this unnecessarily late diagnosis! It sounds as though through no fault of your own this should have been picked up much earlier had your family history been taken into account & scans done when they were requested! I’m so sorry that you’re facing this.

  • Thanks so much for your message Nikki65, no I was first diagnosed with a tumour on my spine and fortunately I went into remission.
yes definitely a big shock to me and family oh yes will definitely be taking it forward as some one has to be held accountable and they can’t deny it because I have letters from my chest clinic asking for an MRI scan to be done on more than one occasion plus it’s documented on the NHS APP me asking for the last 18 months plus. I pray I get through this and I survive but consultant has always said to me it’s not curable treatment will only prolong my life a bit.

i want my family to follow on with this case if I leave early

Thanks again for your encouragement and words of support I appreciate so much. I find this platform very helpful and supportive

  • You’re welcome  . Prior to having my own diagnosis & thankfully not having to deal with cancer within our family before then (we’ve had 2 other family members diagnosed with different kinds of cancer since!) I was under the impression you were either cured of cancer or died from it, I thought there were only 2 states of curable or terminal, I wasn’t fully aware of this state in between termed as treatable. I now know just how many people ‘live’ with cancer, this allows for advancements in treatments, these move at an alarming rate also & who knows what the next big breakthrough will be? I completely understand that we have to be realistic about diagnosis etc., but I suppose what I’m saying is never lose hope people ‘live’ with cancer these days to a greater extent than ever before. Keep fighting & I wish you well with your treatment.
