Hi,
I am getting my tattoos on Friday and will then start treatment next week.
Reading all the posts I realise that the next 6 weeks are going to be horrendous, but I will ask for pain relief and take the Laxido regularly thanks to all your messages.
Does a donut pillow help at all ?
Really worried about how long I will be in pain after treatment ! and not able to go horse riding !
Hi JET1414
I'm currently on week 5 of my treatment. While it hasn't been a walk in the park its not been as bad as I expected. We are all different and will react differently to treatment and cope differently. Re the donut pillow I don't think it would have made any difference to me, bit there's no harm in trying. Good luck with everything. Xx
Hello JET1414
You really are quite far along in the investigative side of things and must be so relieved that treatment is about to start. A warm welcome to the forum, I won't repeat what you have probably read - I did exactly the same thing when I found the site and read up on everything.
I bought an inflatable maternity ring cushion from Boots, it was about £10 and I used it in bed, in the car, anywhere really and it gave some comfort when everything was really painful. My husband did order me an extremely expensive memory foam one but we sent it back, it didn't ease my discomfort at all.
I can't answer any questions about horse riding, I am sorry but I am hoping someone who knows will pick up on your question and give you their experience.
Best of luck next week!
Irene xx
PS Don't forget the Sitzbath - essential in the latter stages of treatment (for me anyway)
Hi Irene,
I ordered my Sitzbath yesterday it sounds like an essential. I will follow your advice and pick up a cushion from Boots. Can you tell me what creams you used ?
I worked out that if I start on 18th November my 28th day is Christmas Day but because where I am they don't work on Christmas day or Boxing day my last treatment day would be 27th December. I know I'll still be in discomfort but I can leave 2024 behind because treatment will be finished. I've prepared myself for a different Christmas. I've never been so organised, presents brought & wrapped, my daughter turns 15 on 14th December so wanted things to be as normal as possible for her because this treatment will potentially affect us as a family. My Mother-in-law has offered to do Christmas dinner for us but I'm not sure how I'll be feeling so I think we're going to do a pick & mix platter, I've said this Christmas will be different xxx
Good idea Sometimes different turns out to be better!
Hope it all goes well. I’m just coming to the end of my 2 nd week of treatment. No side effects- yet xx
