Hi all, I am not sure if this has been on this site before but thought it worth sharing for those who have emergency issues when needing the toilet. I was reading about sphincter muscles and radiotherapy can sometimes cause some damage. The internal sphincter unfortunately you cannot improve strength by exercising as this is an involuntary muscle but the external sphincter which is a voluntary muscle can be improved but does take time and patience. My early days of post treatment I couldn’t hold very long before I needed to dash to the toilet but this has massively improved due to these exercises. It’s worth a read.
