Hi Group
As mentioned my wife has AML and finished her cycle of chemo without too many issues after 5 days. Then on Friday day 6 she had shivers and her blood pressure drops. She is identified on the wsrd then her blood pressure drops and she is rushed to ICU.
I recieve a phone call at 2am to be at hospital as it was "touch and go" i was distrought when the doctor said she has sepsis and could die. They identified the infection was due to the pic-line. It needed to be removed and replaced in her neck.
Sittung at her bedsIde in ICU was really distressing but with tne doctors skill and God she has pulled through and is now back in her room on the ward.
Why now when i should feel lime she is making a recivert do i feel even more alone, scared of losing her?
I stay at tbe hospital everyday from start to finish of visiting hours but return to an empty house 8:30pm cook when i feel hungry have no one to talk too and feel desperately lonely.
My life is turned on its head and although i feel i am a strong persin i realuse I am scared with a cinstant knot in my stimac worried sick its another 2am phone call.
This infection has set me back and i have tried very hard to keep my wife who is the real heroine here positive.
I cant sleep not eating well and know i am in a mess.

Hi again Merse1806f95263 sorry to hear about the challenges your wife has been having.
Unfortunately, infections can result in some scary times.
I did ok during my 2 years treatments but 10 months after my last treatment my infections kicked of resulting in 5 time back in hospital (38 days) with Chest Infections, Lung Fungal Infections, the RSV Virus, Pneumonia, Neutropenic Sepsis, A Fib.
I know how hard a journey my wife and the rest of the family had. She found talking with others helped, with this in mode you may want to check out…..
