About 6 or 8 years ago I had a  Radical Prostatectomy and a long period of Radio Therapy. Now this 78 year old after a Bone Marrow Biopsy have been told there is no treatment that won’t make me worse. I also have a tickling cough getting worse and a few slow growing Skin Cancer sores. Out look not good, not sure if “ months not years” was mentioned in Life expectancy or quality of life. My mobility is getting worse, muscle wastage or Peripheral Neuropathy caused by Diabetes. Feeling pretty low and wondering if any other’s have had experiences that can relate ?

  • Hi   and welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I keep an eye on our various Blood Cancer groups.

I don’t have Leukaemia but I have been on my journey with 2 rare very types of T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas for over 25 years…… but my journey has been rather different so I don’t have sufficient first hand experience that relates to where you are at the moment.

Let’s look for group members with first hand experience to pick up on your post and get back to you.

The Community also has a general (covering all cancer types) support group……

…… where community members in this situation can support and help each other out.

As always the Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Always around to help more or just to chat.
