Hi all
I was diagnosed with AML in February 2025, since then I’ve been on chemo ( 17 cycles so far of venetoclax and azaciidine ), I also had a spell in ICU with sepsis following an infection early on in my treatment.
26 years ago I has a cystectomy for bladder cancer, living through that experience helped me this time around, and I firmly believe the hospitals treating me are the best in the country. Ormskirk, Southport and Whiston are amazing places with incredible staff, it’s due to them all that I’m still here.
I've some facial skin tumours I’m waiting for surgery to remove but overall I’m feeling OK. Happy to be here and if I can help anyone struggling then give me a shout!
best regards, Old bugger.
Hello Old Bugger,
I am pleased to hear you are doing well.
I was also diagnoswd with AML but in April 2025.
Luckily I have not had cancer before that and have so far kept AML at bay.
Great to hear you had good service in your hospitals. I too had first class service at The Christie in Manchester.
If anyone needs help or support I too am happy to be therw for you
All the best.
Mark
