After one course of chemo I haven’t responded , and latest bone marrow is not good
news. I am about to investigate MacMillan palliative care in my locality.
Any ideas on what to expect and or what to ask for , with a view to remaining
at home for as long as possible
from Sakchi
apologise I’m still not sure how to use the forums discussion group !
  • Hi , sorry to hear your news. You do need to talk with your hospital team or your GP as they will know what is available in your area as Macmillan Palliative care is not available in every region in the UK but there are other care providers.

I am not aware of any member in this group at the moment who are on this pathway but could I suggest you join the Community’s general Living with incurable cancer - incurable patients only group. As this would be a helpful place to talk with others who are dealing with the same challenges.

The Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides practical information and guidance, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear and our Cancer Nurse Team in our Ask an Expert section may be helpful but do allow a few working days for a reply.

  • Thank you Highlander that is very good advice.

I seem to have read somewhere that you can only belong to one forum

group at a time, so I think I will  cancel this one, but thank you and

Minnie Mouse for responses and advicee

     best wishes everyone
