My mam was diagnosed with AML on December 10th after having myeloproliferative disorder for 12 years. Its came as a massive shock to us all.

Her consultants have said it's very aggressive and there is no treatment for her, chemo would just shorten what time she has. Initially they said 6 months, but she's been in hospital for a week now and they are transferring her to a hospice this week. She has deteriorated so quickly.

I don't know what I'm hoping to achieve by posting, I feel so lost with all this, she has always been the person to handle these things in the family. How do I explain this to my younger children?

Sorry
