We have a dog and should I have to put her in kennels if my husband declines all of a sudden the dog has to have a kennel cough vaccination. The vet said as it is a live vaccine anyone with a compromised immune system has a tiny chance of catching something as a result so we didn't get it done. But without it I don't have that backup. Has anyone else with a dog who has been in chemo had to deal with this? Is it really dangerous?
There is indeed a real chance of this being a problem. We don’t have a dog but daughter has and when Charlie was getting his jag for going into the kennel as they were going on holiday the Vet told daughter about this. Do talk with your husbands clinical team to get their advice.
