Hello. We are a british family living in cyprus, and trying to find insurance for our family to travel to Japan, including our 20 y.o. daughter with malignant brain tumour (ganglioglioma). Anybody can recommend and insurances? Insurancewith only covers UK residents. We had some refusal from the local insurances. Can anybody help please?

  • It is usual for travel insurance to be taken out from the country of residency. There’s an assumption that in the event of air ambulance service or repatriation that would be to your country of residency. Many also have a requirement that you’re registered with a GP (presumably in your home location).

Your best options might be either a cancer support group in Cyprus or a specialist insurance broker again in Cyprus. Possibly try Facebook for local groups.

    Good luck

  • Many thanks SEE.

I seems found https://www.expatriatehealthcare.com/travel-insurance/non-uk-resident/  , exploring it now and will write a feedback later. Perhaps will help someone else.
