Insurance while waiting for biopsy results

Anyone know a travel firm that covers you while waiting results?  I've been waiting 22 days so far for a biopsy on an endometrial polyp said to have "benign appearance". Now I'm old and suspect the polyp has been there many years so I'm not relying on that but my insurer says they wont cover anything awaiting investigation. I want to go on the holiday, dont like travelling without full cover. I had a confusing phone call which did suggest my insurers might still cover me while away but I dont want to have to fight for that.

I have tried to chase the results as I was verbally told 2-3 weeks, changed in follow up letter to 14-28 days. No answer from the secretary who only works 3 days a week,  messages left, no return call. Submitted a request for my gp to chase but they've never been much use before.

  • Hi, I would be looking at the moment for 28 days at leat waiting time, I work in the Cancer Navigators Office and they are quoting 30 days at least for our local Cancer Services, you will then have the waiting time for the biopsy results which that depends on them being able to slice the material they have been given (mine they had a problem with the hardness) so you are only in the early days at the moment.

As for insurance you can try Insurewith they are very helpful with us Cancer sufferers but ensure you call not online, and that really goes for all Insurance quotes, you are in the very risky stage at the moment undiagnosed but suspected

I wish you all the best for results, I would also suggest that you speak with your Team regarding travelling

    Hope you can get away

    Take care
