Last week I was told I have kidney cancer . No symptoms at all and kidneys are both working brilliantly . Consultant said they are taking out the affected one in 8 weeks . He is happy for me to travel . We have a mini break next week booked that cost us £400. After an exhausting day of rejections , I was horrified that I could only get travel cover from 2 providers and it ranged from £450 to £900 . I was referred to a specialist cancer insurer . When I explained that I am happy to not be covered for cancer he advised me to contact Global link travel .com (4 star defacto). I only want to be insured for accidents and repatriation … their cover offers £10 million medical and repatriation and all the standard stuff but only covers certain pre-existing conditions . I am 56 and the sIngle trip policy has only cost me £49 . I know it won’t tick everyone’s box but if like me you are worried more about a shark biting your leg off whilst paddling than having a cancer related crisis On holiday it may be worth considering . Stay strong and keep positive xxxx
