Hi all,
I've done a search and combed through some replies but, very understandably, most folks on these forums are looking for personal travel insurance. I've already had some success for that with firms like InsureWith, as I'm NED after receiving anal cancer treatment last year and my treatment was over 6 months ago, and approaching a year since diagnosis.
My firm would like me to travel to Europe as part of my job but almost all the usual insurance firms don't cover business travel which is booked by my company, so I wondered if anyone here has ever run into something similar for yourself or your employees, who could point me in the direction of a company or two to approach about it, as I'm drawing a complete blank with all the usual ways to search as the focus is very much on personal travel policies.
Any help very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam
Hi Sam
I have never needed travel insurance to cover a business trip so don't have any recommendations, but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post.
I've done a search of the group looking for previous posts which mention business travel but drawn a blank I'm afraid.
A couple of thoughts, as it's your firm that would like you to travel abroad as part of your job, do they have insurers who would cover you? My second thought, if the answer to the first one is no, is to contact BIBA to see if they can put you in touch with a specialist insurer.
Do come back and let us know how you get on as it would be useful to know for future posters.

Thanks latchbrook, it's been a bit frustrating trying to find any information at all, so I appreciate the reply. I will contact BIBA and see if they have any recommendations! My firm has only dealt with larger scale groups that travel, and no one else bar myself has had such complicated medical needs. The big ol' C word definitely throws a spanner in the works, even if you're fortunately enough to be ned.
Just coming back here to update. I found both Insure and Go and All Clear Travel would give business cover quotes as long as your work is white collar (ie, office/desk based) and the business cover was an addon to a regular personal/leisure quote. Cost was around the £370 mark with gadget cover.
Hi WhalerGirl
I'm just checking that I've understood this correctly for future reference
These companies will only offer travel insurance for business travel if you're also going to be on holiday at the same time. Is that right?
