Hi everyone
As it can be time consuming looking through existing posts for travel insurance recommendations I thought it'd be a good idea to try and keep all recommendations in one place.
With that in mind I thought I'd ask that when you've found an insurance company that provided you with cover at a reasonable cost you posted that recommendation here.
If you could put a little bit of additional information eg. whether you got single trip or annual, cover for a cruise, worldwide, etc along with anything else that you think others would find helpful when they are researching that would be great.
All the recommendations come from community members and are not recommendations from Macmillan. Please make sure you do your own research as to whether they are suitable for you.

I'm looking for insurance for a short winter sports break for me and my husband in March some time. It looks as if Staysure will offer us cover though I haven't finished the application yet (there are things we don't know). Columbus won't but point us at a "partner" called GoodToGo, who I don't know anything about. Macmillan sent my husband (who has prostate cancer, course of treatment recently completed and hormone therapy ongoing) and MGUS (not being treated but on watch) as well as one or two other non cancer conditions) a booklet that specifically mentions InsuranceWith ...the onlly one ... there's nothing on their website today which says they are not offering policies, but I haven't really ventured in ... MacM obviously thinks they are OK, but I note that on the MM website itself it says they are not allowed to recommend individual companies! I had the equivalent booklet from them way back when I had breat cancer, and it listed about a dozen companies - most of whom weren't very helpful, so it must be a difficult topic.
I'm feeling a bit knackered at the moment but will try InsuranceWith or maybe Allclear later and see what happens.
I have been struggling to find travel insurance for my holiday to the Maldives in April 2022. I have a terminal diagnosis for Esophageal Cancer for which the original prognosis was 9-12 months back in March 2020. I have been on a clinical trial or immunotherapy for the past year which has kept my cancer stable and I will be on this treatment for another year as long as my cancer stays stable (no reason to think otherwise). Because my cancer is stable I was trying to find an insurer that would exclude my cancer but because my condition is 'terminal' I have been constantly refused insurance by many providers, including those that specialise in cancer insurance - that was until I found Insurewith.com......I'm amazed! They have quoted me £158.35 to fully cover me including cancer and covid for a 2 week stay in the Maldives!
That's great news Happy lass! Thanks for taking the time to post about your experience and I hope you have a lovely time in the Maldives
Thank you for the headsup. I did get some help, because they wanted to go through my lists. Now today I get an email saying the quote is only current for 7 days! I haven't done this for a while, because of COVID, and we don't even know our dates or how many people are going yet, and it took me about 5 hours of work to get the lists compiled, They do say that you can set an alert "if it is a speculative quote", so I shall have to wait and see what happens. I had not even finished the quote as the COVID situation on the Continent is changing all the time. I thought insurance quotes were meant to stand for 30 days ... Now I am worried that my other quote, which is also not finished, will lapse.
Thank you for this blog and the helpful information from all the contributors.
Having been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer in January, I have been struggling to obtain practical and affordable travel insurance. I also have history of MI which was in 2008 when I had two stents inserted and mild asthma! A dangerous cocktail of problems and certainly one that has caused insurers to balk at quoting.
Most of the quotes have ranged between £450 and £1200 to cover me for 11 days in Tenerife for the start of June. Many firms would not quote at all.
I have eventually obtained cover from Insurancewith. Full disclosure of ailments in a simple to use online form has given a quote of £107.50.
I am, quite frankly, both relieved and amazed at this result, it just shows that you can get good coverage for a reasonable price.
