My bestie is near the time of going from palliative to end of life. Obviously she's angry, upset and scared. Her partner and I are supporting her.
We are both struggling to remain calm, not react to Bestie's insults towards us and sometimes she's very nasty and hurtful. It's so difficult and of course we're both angry and upset that she's dying.
Grateful for any tips, guidance something that will help her partner and I.
Thank you.
Hi Jacqui456
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.
Something I found quite helpful was looking at your emotions when someone has cancer, as we can see anger is actually quite common. At one point when I was getting really quite stressed something my GP recommended was green therapy - going for a walk somewhere in nature. For us there is a reasonble park quite close and stopping and listening to the birds singing I found quite helpful. I had done a living with less stress course too and can also relate to the tips about conscious breathing that I found both helpful in being able to relax but also good when life decided to throw us another curveball.
