Hi

Will keep the story short as lots of hoo haas along the way.

We have been told paliative and not curative.

My husband and partner of 34 years had an emergency colostomy fitted 30/9

Had to do a PALS due to snails pace referrals after this. Surgeon. simply said inoperable oncologist next 2/3 week wait hopefully !!!!!

My response was a little short , anyway over that now havefirst Oncologist appoitment Thu which was a week after being told 2/3 weeks wait.

Very very nervous but pretty sure we know what to expect due to conversations over 10 days of being in hospital.

Already told the rectal mass of 8cm is not operable this led to an emergency admission and surgery to fit the stoma.

So worrying about how on earth you get Chemo fit when my husband is already so poorly.

We have been sent home and largely left which has been super challenging.

Chris already lost the weight he had gained after being in hospital for ten days.

Will stop rambling as once I start ......

  • Hi Laura,

Just wanted to send you a hug.

Please do reach out to all the resources available to support you during this very challenging and sad time.

Hopefully when you see oncologist and he can advise a treatment plan for you and give you all the information you need to move forward.

Do whatever you can to remain positive and strong for both of you.  A good diet, protein, plant based, veg etc.  Lots of advice out there.  Mediterranean is good. We are also going into hearty soup season.

This will help you keep strong too.

One day at a time and try not to think the worst.

    sending positive energy xx

  • Thanks for your kind words.

I realise that other people are navigating tricky times too.

The early hours of the morning are the toughest.

Staying positive and want a plan to have a focus rather that this unknown limbo x
