My husband was diagnosed on 19/11/21 with oesophageal cancer with mets to bones, lungs, stomach and Lymph nodes. Started palliative chemo to give us longer together but made him so ill he decided no more. He has no energy doesn’t want to go out, since Friday he can’t or doesn’t want to eat, constantly vomiting coffee granules, sleeping lots and very restless. He cried yesterday that he thinks he doesn’t have long left also said hates the way he looks he’s just skin and bone. Would he be suitable to have a feeding line in I’m worried if can’t eat things will take a turn for the worst. He’s my soul mate and we have been married 39 years we have two wonderful children and 2 grandchildren. He is 58 I can’t loose him yet. Thank you for reading this and if you have any advise for me it will be greatly appreciated xx

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read how poorly your husband is at the moment and it's natural that you'd want to do all you can to make him comfortable.

I can't help with whether or not he can be fed busing a tube but I noticed that no one had replied to your post yet. By responding to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list.

While you're waiting for replies it might be an idea to post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will respond withing 3 working days. Alternatively you could speak to them on the Macmillan Support Line by calling 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and they're available every day between 8am and 9pm.

    Sending (((hugs))) your way.
