Hi everyone, my mum will be 81 soon and has just had a colonoscopy a few days ago where they have found.bowel cancer!! We are waiting for the ct scans to come back from her abdomen and chest. But they have said they won't operate has she's to vulnerable, she's lost alot of weight and feels full quickly when she.eats.. I'm 50 and lost my dad 2 years ago, I'm trying to be strong for my mum but I don't know what to expect.. I struggled with my dad's death and I'm dreading all what is to come.. I just hope I've got her for awhile yet but I also don't want her to suffer.. any advice would be grateful and to make friends who are going through this too. Thank you x
Hi Leb17 and a warm welcome to the Online Community. I'm not actually from this group, I just dropped by and noticed you've not yet had a reply from the members here just yet. This is a very busy group but by my answering it'll "bump" your post back up to the top of the listings so hopefully soon you'll have a reply.
I'm sorry to read about your Mum's unexpected diagnosis. It's very hard to deal with a diagnosis of any cancer when you don't know what to expect. As my cancer is different, I've tagged the Champ of this group court to come along and welcome you and chat.
Even if her Consultant decides an operation is not an option, they won't let her suffer and will do all they can to make her comfortable so try not to overthink things, easy to say, hard to do.
Sending hugs, B xx
