My dad was diagnosed with advanced cancer (stage iv oesaphageal cancer with mets in lymph nodes and liver) in March. He has collapsed due to pulmonary embolisms and bleeds. He had no symptoms until beginning of May and since then has had 4 hospital admissions. He did one Round of chemo but no further treatment since mid May. He is declining now and has lost quite a lot of weight and is only eating very small meals. He is starting to become weak and is largely housebound due to his fatigue. He is now sleeping/ in bed 18 hours a day (only up 2-3 hours maximum at a time). Every few days he vomits (seems like his food builds up or something) despite having regular medication to keep nausea at bay. Also having constipation issues. He still engages with us a little, but seems withdrawn. He still does puzzles and reads the paper.  I’m after opinions- does this seem like we are nearing end of life?  Days, weeks, months based on my description? I know no one really knows but just trying to prepare myself. Thanks
