Hi I’m due to have stem cell transplant in Marsden Sutton end of this month I’m feeling so scared and anxious
Thank you , I was asking as was thinking I could take something in with me but I’m sure the hospital will have it all in hand
Your team will ensure you have what you need I'm sure.
Thank you Mike and wow 7 years that’s brilliant it gives me hope , I was asking about mouth wash as was thinking I could take something in with me .I agree what you say as if a lot of units used what worked it’s better in the long run .
Your unit will have ‘their’ care products so do make sure you use them exactly as you are told and this should help keep any mouth issues to a minimum.
Hi busylizzie.
You will be given everything you need for any side effect. There are specialist nurses for pain, for nausea, infection control, tissue viability etc so you’re in good hands. I brought books and puzzles etc but none of them were even touched as I was too weak to concentrate. Even visitors will be tiring for you for the first few weeks. I do recommend audiobooks though. After the first couple of weeks they kept me sane. Very best wishes
