I am due to have an infusion of cyclophosamide on Tuesday, preparing me for stem cell transplant and I am pretty apprehensive about the side-effects. Can anyone advise me what to expect?
Hi Winona and welcome to the Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) magical mystery tour.
I have not had cyclophosphamide over my two Allo (donor) SCTs….. but this is just one of the many drugs used as part of SCT but also used across other cancer types.
As with all these treatments some have no real challenges, others do. You just have to take it as it comes and trust in your clinical team as they have seen all this before.
Are you in the preparation stage for harvesting you stem cells?
What type of blood cancer do you have?
Yes, preparation stage. I have multiple myeloma.
This is being used to ensure remission and open the door for getting your clean cells….. then you move onto the process to take down your immune system before you get your cells back but that part is for another day.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
