Hi
I am 5 months post SCT for AML and have developed dry skin in a number of areas, mainly torso, backs of knees, around eyes and behind ears. My consultant tells me it's not GVHD.
I am still concerned about this, is it normal to have eczema and dry skin rashes after SCT?
There is not a lot of information about this online?
Thank you.
Hi Pink123456789 and welcome to this corner of the community and well done getting through your Allo.
I had 2 Allo’s - June 2014 then Oct 2015. My type of NHL was actually a rare skin condition so skin challenges have been part of my life since 1999.
I did have some skin GvHD (rather different from my actual skin condition) going between angry red and inflamed areas and then very dry flaky skin but it did all eventually clear up.
I have talked with others who developed post SCT eczema type presentation and dry skin rashes. They went on to see a Dermatologist and eczema was confirmed.
The skin is very reactive to everything that goes on ‘inside’ during SCT so the skin can change.
What are your SCT team suggesting as away forward for you?
