hi, my stem cells were harvested a few weeks ago. I am due to have beam chemo followed by stem cell rescue in early May. Is it possible for stem cells to have Lymphoma? If so then the stem cells which will be restored may have the disease.

  • thanks Mark. I had R ESHAP, RICE and BEAM therapies before my transplant.

  • I had the biopsy of the entire groin node 1 month ago. Also a CT scan. the team say the lymphoma has changed from stage 3 to 2 and the pathology shows it is low grade. As a result no treatment is required at this time. I am immensely relieved Slight smile

  • Hi  this is good news indeed, so try and park this for a period time and look after yourself.

As always we are around if you need to talk.

  • There is one more thing. I have night sweats the past month. Damp neck and T shirt. No drenched sheets. The team say it may be the humid weather but I don't agree. when I iwas initially diagnosed I had the same pattern of sweats as I have now.

Could this be an indication that the Lymphoma is very much 'active' ?

  • Hi Josh,

If I was wearing a t-shirt the past few weeks then I would be sweating, it’s certainly been humid but I understand your concern. For me the drenching was just that, absolutely soaking everything through and needing the sheets changing through the night.
Certainly it could be Lymphoma but the fact the weather is hot is certainly favourite at the moment. If you notice any other symptoms, itch, lumps or weight loss then get in touch with your team. In the meantime try thinner bed sheets and no t-shirt at night see if it’s better.
    Regards

  • Hi Josh

Tend to agree with Mark. Past few weeks ive had no cover and no t shirt and a fan going all night! Otherwise pretty sure I would have been sweating.

I think we can sometimes over analyse things but I totally get why we do. I am pretty bad at that myself, only go to go off food for a few days or have an ache and my mind goes in all sorts of directions.
