Hi there,
I was diagnosed with classical HL in October 2016. Had 2 cycles of ABVD and got a clear scan. Had 4 further cycles of AVD - clear scan. Less than a year later, 7cm 'mass' in my chest. Lit up like a Christmas tree, as did a lymph node in my neck. Had a large biopsy (around 3cm) of the mass in my chest and it came back negative for lymphoma (thank God right?!) but left us in limbo. Further scan, lymph node in neck still lit up so this week i'll have that biopsied followed by another PET scan next week. My dr says if I have relapsed, it with be GDP chemo for me plus SCT.
I guess I'm after success stories? There might already be a success story link if someone can point me in that direction? Has anyone had GDP? What was it like? I head your hair may not fall out.... is this true? Is there anyone out there a few years down the line and living the life of their dreams.
I've been handling this really well and taken advantage of this 'limbo' stage that we've been in for the last three months.... but now it is coming to an end with this new biopsy and scan... I'm getting really scared and starting to lose hope.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Shelley
Good morning everyone. it’s my 5th re-birthday today. I am doing great apart from two sore arms where I got my final re-vaccinations on Monday.
Granddaughter is on a sleepover (informal childcare) so she is insisting we have a birthday breakfast. So it’s homemade Scottish pancakes, bacon and maple syrup
Happy Re-Birthday Mike! Sounds an interesting breakfast!
Hugs xxx

Happy rebirthday Mike, hope you had a lovely day. Thank you for all your support over the years too x
Great Breakfast Moomy and thank you Jackie x
Vaccinations! Me too hopefully they won’t be long, I am being careful here on Corfu, I am going to pottery once a week and Pilates for my bad back. I’m enjoying these sessions only with people I know who are concerned I am vulnerable .
Not many tourists this year and luckily the villa is in a secluded area. I miss the friends and family in the U.K. but I’m better to be safe here
Well done Mike ! Hope you have had a great day .
Mark
Fantastic news Mike, what a great landmark! 5 whole years! I hope you get some time to reflect and celebrate!
Thanks Mark and Greg, day suitably celebrated although a quick call with my GP this morning had me on antibiotics for a Kidney Infection - the joys of the journey.
Happy Re-birthday Mike, what any of us would give to be 5 again.
I feel your pain (literally) with regards to the baby jabs. I started mine a couple of months back and after the 1st lot which was 4 in one go, I could barely lift my arms. Lasted about a week as well so it’s probably a good job babies can’t speak when they have them done.
Regards
Mark
