hi I’ve recently been diagnosed with clear cell endometrial/ovarian cancer. I’ve had full hysterectomy, both tubes and ovaries removed as well as omentum. I’m due to start chemo on Tuesday and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Any hints or tips of what to take in to get through first treatment? Thank you

  • Hello

    Welcome to the Online Community.

I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of clear cell endometrial cancer/ovarian cancer.

We do have a forum for people that have a diagnosis of endometrial cancer and I will pop a link here for you.

    Womb (uterus) cancer forum

it can be helpful to talk to others with a similar diagnosis.

We also have a forum for people who have a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. This link will take you there.

Although it is possible to have a diagnosis of 2 different cancers it may be that one group is more specific to your own diagnosis.

I am normally around the womb cancer group and there are ladies on there who have had womb cancer that has gone to other places- eg ovaries, lymph nodes etc. It may be worth posting in that forum to connect with others.

It is very natural to feel overwhelmed when having gone through major surgery and then to be told you need chemo. I had my chemo in 2022 for my womb cancer. Within the womb forum there is a thread that may be of help as it is for ladies who are having chemotherapy.

The chemo for endometrial and ovarian cancer seems to be the same for many ladies.

I hope this helps a bit. I will look out for you in the womb forum but in the meantime if there is anything you need or want to ask about, please do so.

We do have the Support Line available from 8am-8pm daily if it would help to talk things through.
