Husband's diagnosis

Hi all, my husband was admitted on Friday, sent home yesterday.  He doesn't have an official diagnosis but has been told by a consultant that it is Myeloma.

They said he was to be treated as an out patient.  As far as we know, he is waiting on another CT but we have no date for that.

Of course he is stressed, not helped by the lack of info on how we move forward.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

  • Hi Anniemum

Welcome to the Online Community, I'm Daisy53 on of the Community Champions on the Community.  I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with Myeloma.  I suggest that you join the Myeloma forum where you can get support for yourself and your husband.  Here's the link to that forum: Myeloma forum .  You can also join the family and friends forum to get support from other family members whose love ones have been diagnosed with cancer.  Here's the link to that one as well: Family and friends forum.   I'm also sending you a link to Macmillan's information about Myeloma: What is myeloma? (Multiple myeloma) | Macmillan Cancer Support.

Wishing you the your husband the best of luck with whatever treatment your husband receives.

    Best wishes

  • Hi  and a warm welcome from me to the Community.

I am Mike and I help out around our various blood cancer groups including our dedicated Myeloma group that my friend  has highlighted.

I know from experience having been on my cancer journey now coming up to 26 years with two very rare, hard to treat types of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphomas (one incurable) that navigating this journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but talking with and getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey be it as a patient or care giver help a lot.

I will keep an eye open for you in the Myeloma group.

  • Hi Mike, thank you so much.  I've added my husband, Anniesdad, more usually known as Phil, to the Myeloma group.
