Long term chronic migraine and cancer

Hi Sooze and warm welcome to the Community but sorry to hear you find yourself on the Lymphoma rollercoaster.

I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups. 

I have been on my Lymphoma journey for over 25.5 years first diagnosed way back in 1999 at 44…… when my first rare (8 in a million) ‘incurable’ but treatable type of slow growing Low-Grade Cutaneous T-Cell NHL was presenting.

I eventually reached Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare (4 in a million) type of very aggressive High-Grade Peripheral T-Cell NHL was then presenting so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I most definitely appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

I have never suffered from migraines but I had some significant ‘chemo heads’ during my various treatments (See my story) so I can only imagine the challenges if you suffer from Migraines.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend you look to join one of more of our dedicated Lymphoma groups….. we can’t have a group for all the 60 types and sub-types of Lymphoma….. but these groups cover the main types.

General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Follicular Lymphoma

Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

Mantel Cell Lymphoma

T-cell lymphomas

Always around to chat in this thread or do join a group and put up a thread there - I will keep an eye open for you and so can give you further help.

Thanks so much for your swift reply and pointing me in the right direction also thank you for the work you do making the most of your extensive patient experience! I think my query is primarily for any long term migraine sufferers pre cancer diagnosis as it makes the treatment pathway even more tricky but certainly I will take a look at the Lymphoma group too.

The New to Community area is like the sites reception desk and most people move on from it to our various cancer specific support groups…… so do post in the best Lymphoma group for your type of Lymphoma
