Hello im new here so please be kind.I have endometrial cancer grade3 stage3c1 .I have had a full hysterectomy  on 19th Dec and about to start my chemo and Radiotherapy treatment on 9th March.

I am down to have Bracytherapy  and feeling very anxious about this and reading up about it has made me feel worse.

I would like to know from anyone who has had this if they were offered sedation ? I am going to ask if this is an option as I really dont want to be aware of the procedure as my anxiety will be through the roof .I'd rather not know what was happening till its all over as I dont want a panic attack.TIA.

  • Hi Glama21

Welcome to the Online Community. I am sorry to hear that you had a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. I hope that you are recovering well from your surgery. I also had endometrial cancer and also had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy.

I can understand your worries around treatment.

May I suggest that you pop onto the Womb cancer forum and post there. There are many ladies there who will have shared your experiences and will want to offer support.

Womb (uterus) cancer forum This link takes you to the Womb group.

Radiotherapy support - Macmillan Online Community This link takes you to the radiotherapy thread within the womb group.

Facing further treatment can be hard and if it would help to talk things through with someone, please do give the Support Line a call. They are there from 8am-8pm everyday.

  • Hi I had brachytherapy in December 2025, and i was terrified because i did not no what would happen but let me assure you that it is nothing to worry about as no pain and pretty straight forward and each session was over with pretty quickly, i also have endometrial cancer and i had two surgeries, 1 before and 1 after the brachytherapy. On the mend now
