Hi all,
In 1998 I had a Lipoma removed from under my left armpit and last Wednesday I had it removed agsin gor the 5th time.
Up until now I was convinced it was just a lipoma but it turns out it is infact a sarcoma.
I'm currently waiting for the pathology results and the surgeon says I will possibly require radiotherapy.
To say I'm scared is an understatement but my biggest concern is for my partner who's husband died of lung cancer in 2020 and she is obviously massively anxious about this happening again.

I am Steve, one of the community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma. One of my focus points then in on our Soft tissue sarcomas forum .
It sounds like you have been fairly on track on keeping an eye on what is happening so good that the doctors picked up the change. Sarcomas are quite rare and so generally get dealt with across a few specialist centres we were lucky in that we were being treated in Oxford anyway..
Janices has had two lots of cehemotherapy and the second of these managed to make her cancer stable and it has been that way for about 10 years now, with quite a lot of help we got to the point of learning to live with cancer rather than anything else.
Sorry to hear about your parners husband too, it does often happen than another cancer diagnosis does trigger anxiety about incidents in the past, if it helps we have a Family and friends forum here.
