He has just got his appointment with the consultant on 11/2. It seems such a long time to wait. He elected to get test results over the phone for speed and the Urology nurse told us just a few days ago. There are two types of cancer and she said he will need treatment but he is still hoping not. I am just under 70, he is over 70. To complicate matters we had just started couples counselling a few weeks ago. Has anyone else here experienced this scenario?
Hello MissusJ, welcome to the Macmillan online community although I'm sorry you have the need to join.
There are numerous forums on here for different types of cancer and I'd like to suggest you join the Prostate cancer forum where you will find many members (I am one of them) willing and able to help with their wide experiences of the many issues prostate cancer brings. Prostate cancer is indeed a couples disease and for that reason we also have numerous lady members who are wives and partners.
I've attached a link below, if you click on the link a new page opens up, click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. When you've joined you can post to introduce yourself and ask whatever you want. You'll find plenty of support on the group.
Derek.
