Hello new here.
mum not been feeling herself since September we had just returned from holiday we was all abit under the weather we all got better mum just seemed to get worse bit by bit, back and forth to the GP told viral, then sinusitus then couldn’t get an appointment ect so mum battled on at home.
Abit of mums history, she had breast cancer 7 years ago, had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy and was given the all clear in the end. She had her mammogram in June which came back clear and was on the path to recommence 3 yearly mammograms moving forward.

long story short mum is only 55 , mum complaining of breathlessness for a few weeks returned home from holiday two Saturdays ago i took one look at her and told her she needed to go to A&E mums was really scared didn’t want to go, managed to get appointment with out of hours the following day, they listened to her chest and said it was clearer sent her into A&E with suspected blood clot.

scanned mum and full white mass over right breast and collapsed lung, mum had a litre of plueral fluid drained from long and it was sent for testing. The next week was a drag waiting for results but none the less mum was called back in on Friday, told breast cancer in right breast two significant masses and it has metastases into the plueral fluid which is the layers in the lung and into her stomach. They have told her they can’t do any operations and only provide treatment to ‘control’ the cancer.

mum is in a total state we are all trying to sugar coat it for her but she knows, she knows this will take her life, I am a nurse which makes it worse as I know and fear what is to come.
We are still waiting to hear from oncology to see what treatments they can offer.

my question is anyone in similar circumstances what has been offered to you?
why haven’t they attempted to take biopsies from the breast is this because it’s spread and it is deemed pointless? I’m waiting for a call back from the specialist nurses but no response yet. Can’t even get mum into GP for days had to beg for an appointment this coming Wednesday to give her something to calm her down, feeling totally defeated.

I just really need to speak to someone where they can relate to my situation
