I went yesterday to the breast clinic I had an ultrasound and biopsy then saw the consultant who told me I have breast cancer that's before any biopsy results I can't eat or sleep I feel sick I have an appointment on Monday fir the results I'm scared stiff
I was literally told by the consultant with information about how to look after the area were they took the biopsy. I was on my own at the appointment to and deeply upset. In the waiting room a nurse said we may have a leaflet and stumbled around trying to find one from the rack. I told her not to worry i was in the middle of the waiting room full of other women waiting to be seen. I was not offered anywhere private to sit, a glass of water or a friendly ear just sent on my way. Worst experience ever
Hope your surgery goes well xx we can fight this xx
I am so sorry to hear that. I hope your next team take better care of you. Phone your hospital and ask to speak with the cancer nurse. They will give you loads of information and contact details of who will support you. You will also receive support from any cancer care centre near you. You can just walk in don't always need an appointment. I truly hope you get the support you need and soon. We will fight this, we will get better. Good luck
Thank you and we certainly can. Phone ask questions, get the support you need. This is a worrying time. I am still worried but dare I say a little less now I have a treatment plan. One step at a time. We will remain strong and fight it. Look after yourself xx
The surgery went fine. I panicked about nothing. The staff took really good care of me. I had surgery lunchtime and home by teatime. I am day 4 post surgery and feeling fine. It was not so much painful as more discomfort. I am healing well thank you xx
You all sound so amazing , positive and strong!! Got my biopsy results on Tuesday but have already been told it’s malignant. Just don’t know the details. Praying they can help. Am very up and down. Staying strong -ish until I even think about telling my children then I’m freaking out
can I ask …… it seems like you all went from biopsy results meeting to operation very quickly?? That’s amazing if so.
when do they find out if it’s spread into lymph’s - is that when the remove the tumour or before that??
my ultrasound that spotted the tumour didn’t see anything in lymph’s but i know that’s not conclusive,
still reeling, and can’t believe nothing was spotted on my mammogram in January or last week. Anyone else has this??
My last mammogram was clear also.
You will find out if in lymph nodes when results come in after the operation.
I had op on the 5th and results call is due on the 20th. Fingers crossed they are clear then onto radio therapy. Not sure how long that takes. Xx
That's really good to here, one thing out the way. Stay strong x
I feel exactly the same about telling my son, I went to my local cancer centre and they were really helpful and gave me a pack for my son. They have also booked me on a wellbeing event that explains treatments and what services are available. I have my treatment meeting on Wednesday.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
