Hi all i'm new here, i've just very recently been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer at aged 41, this is so devestating for me and my son. I don't know much about it or what to expect. I need help and support please.

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups.

I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare, incurable type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a (blood cancer) so I appreciate the challenges of this journey well.

If you could tell me the ‘exact’ type of Bone Marrow/Blood cancer you have I will do my best to connect you others who have the same diagnosis.

  • Hi and ty i've been diagnosed with Myeloma all i know is it can develop into CML  later.

  • Hi again, thanks for the information.

Like my type of Lymphoma, Myeloma is incurable but very treatable. I was diagnosed when I was 43 when I was first diagnosed, I have been though various treatments over the past 23 years but I am living as good a life that any 66 year old can live - so there is lots of hope looking to the future.

The Community has various support groups (discussion rooms) so can I suggest that you consider joining our supportive Myeloma group. This is a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above. Then once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using)

I will keep an eye open for you in the group.
