Hi everyone.

My daughter was diagnosed with HER2  yesterday and she has a plan for treatment starting this coming Tuesday.

Chemotherapy, followed by a Mastectomy. 6 months later.

I am in utter shock and I don't want to fall totally apart in front of her, so I came on here.. Hopefully when my mind stops whizzing around at a  thousand miles an hour I'll be able to be strong for her.

I'm sobbing like a crazy woman and feel totally lost whilst treading water.

The mere fact of opening up just a little bit has already helped enormously.

Sending love  to everyone

Mel

  • Hi Mel and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your daughter has recently been diagnosed with cancer and it's natural to be feeling as you do at the moment.

I can see that you've found and joined the family and friends group which I'm sure you'll find is a safe and supportive place to discuss your emotions with others who have someone living with cancer. When you're ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.

It would be great if you could pop something about your daughter's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
